Day One of the 3rd Annual Regional Industrialization Conference (RIC2026) in Kampala has brought together private sector leaders, policymakers, investors and industry players from over 8 countries to one platform to discuss how we can unlock Africa’s industrial potential through regional value chain integration.
Representing Tanzania, TPSF Ag. CEO, Mr. Deogratius Massawe, participated in the high-level panel on “Regional Value Chains in Practice – Opportunities and Challenges.”
The message presented was clear, East Africa cannot build globally competitive industries by working in isolation
Massawe emphasize, that Regional value chains mean that raw materials can be sourced from one country, processed in another, financed and transported through another, and ultimately sold across the region and to global markets.
What we need is stronger regional collaboration, fewer barriers to trade, better infrastructure, affordable finance, innovation and policies that allow businesses to operate seamlessly across borders.
