TPSF joined the Fair Competition Commission, Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority and nanosilikhanafrica at the Tanzania Anti-Counterfeit and Investment Protection Forum, Johari Rotana, Dar es Salaam.
Counterfeiting is theft three times over from the investor who built the brand, from the consumer who paid for quality and received risk, and from the Treasury that loses trillions in revenue every year. But it does a fourth thing too: it punishes compliance. It takes the manufacturer who pays his taxes and meets his standards, and puts him at a disadvantage against the one who does neither.
TPSF commits to working with the Fair Competition Commission and Invest Tanzania to make authentication and traceability standard practice across Tanzanian industry not a good idea, but a norm.
